every now and then a song comes by that sweeps you off your feet. and although that seems to happen less and less these days, it is a blessing to find new immersive music, the kind that tickles the hairs on your neck with that one sound or verse- music that pours into your soul like some kind of spiritual medicine- able to wipe away feelings and implant positive vibrations. well enough of the poetic intro- there is this song i finally 'discovered' after having it for years on a supposed mark farina mix 'deep house of acid jazz' (which is purportedly not farina) which starts at around 20mins. I recognized it as Faithless' singer Maxi Jazz but couldn't find the song by Faithless. Turns out it was a collaboration between 1 Giant Leap, Maxi Jazz, and Robbie Williams called " My Culture ". It has some very impressive lyrics (the first one I heard was some chunky house remix, but the original one rocks too) backed by one deep and profound message: we owe it all to our ancestors. check out the video below:
